Sailing

Faial is the island with the most sailing tradition in the Azores. The marina is a historical place and a must for anyone crossing the Atlantic. On top of being the best known in the region, Horta’s marina has excellent conditions to receive sailors: You can rent a boat, with or without a crew, adding to ideal weather conditions, and stunning landscapes that you can discover while sailing around the island, or even take a trip to the other islands of the central or eastern group.

Practiced for decades on Faial, sailing is part of the sporting and leisure activity of different generations simultaneously. Accredited maritime tour operators rent excellent boats with or without a skipper. We challenge everyone to go on an adventure, with good winds, breathtaking landscapes, and good company!
